This is what I will call an on-roading competition. It's like what jeeps do, watch the location of wheels, tires, fenders, entry and exit angles, it's just on a much more urban scale. Lol

I was parking at a stupid fucking Denny's of all places and pulled in too far (apparently..). Scratched the underside of the front bumper on my brand new Audi. I can't begin to tell you how pissed I am that such a dumb situation caused so much damage. It's the only thing I can see while approaching my car now.

I have. A guy at my work has/had 2. The 1st one (grey) he gutted the interior (carpet, sound insulation, passenger seats) to make the car lighter for fuel savings, but it was also in need of body repair. I don't know what happened to it. The black one he has now is maybe a year newer (perhaps 1991) and isn't pristine but it's in very very good shape and stock (he hasn't removed the interior parts like the old one)

Everytime there's a post hating on stance I always wanna write a cute little paragraph to defend one of my favorite subcultures.

But then I keep reading the comments you guys write and I lose all motivation.

You're all worse than the "stance kids" you hate so much. They're just out there enjoying their hobby, loving it. They have their own automotive passion, just a bit different than yours.

And what do you do? Instead of appreciating these beautiful renditions - you tell people they need to die. What the hell? So what someone did something you don't like, instead of immediately disgracing it why don't you try and look at it in a different light and maybe appreciate it. A lot of hard work goes into getting these cars to sit the way they are. A lot of innovation, and clever thinking.

Just about NO ONE in the stance culture is as obsessed with destroying oil pans as you think they are. No one want to crack a pan, or destroy their suspension. Sometimes it happens. Everyone is aware of the risk, and yet they continue to drive their cars the way they want. Because its their passion.

Not everyone has the same tastes.

It isn't hating it's mocking because lowering your car to an acceptable degree is fine and perfectly understandable. Lowering your car beyond any performance gains and REALLY FAR into completely fucking retarded levels is beyond a joke. All you are doing is making your car uncomfortable and awful to drive and it's PURELY FOR LOOKS WHICH IS THE WORST REASON OF ALL. I'm sure you understand why people like a lowered car. A lowered car usually indicates a sport or race suspension used to make the car go fast in the twisties. The issue is that now aesthetics have trumped function.

Case 1: Audi race car has zero wheel gap and looks great! Also functional.

Case 2: This monstrosity inherited an extra car chromosome and has the wheel camber of an airplane wing.

As an automotive community, it is your RESPONSIBILITY to hate on these idiots because it will discourage some people from ruining their car.

As the owner of a properly Tein lowered 08 Accord V6 sedan I can certainly empathize with the sense of accomplishment these people feel making a parking entrance like that. My car is certainly higher off the ground than any of these (mine is only about 2" lower than stock even with the 40 series tires) but my greatest sense of pride came last year when I had to drive out of a muddy cornfield for some fall fest. I literally used every trick I had learned from years of off road driving to find every line possible to make my way out. Shortly after that I broke down and just bought another 4x4. Now I just take that if I know I'm going somewhere like that.
